Virtual First Sundays for Families
Families can admire the beauty of feathered friends online with the help of Brandywine River Museum. Participants can expect hands-on activities such as creating a hummingbird feeder.
Kids can also create a printed “flock of birds" and explore a new English-Spanish guide that highlights birds that migrate between Mexico and the Brandywine Valley. The Facebook session begins at 11 am with award-winning children's book author/illustrator Gene Barretta At 12 noon, kids meet author Libby Piper and illustrator Renée Fox who share poetry and illustrations from their book, Honeysuckle Hugs. The event concludes with child-friendly guided mediation and movement inspired by nature.
This event is offered in conjunction with Longwood Gardens’ 2021 Community Read and sponsored by PECO.
Projects and videos are set to post on May 2.
