Family Art Project: Heartwood Heartbeat Wreaths
Sat Nov 21, 2020 - Sun Nov 22, 2020
- see all dates
Repeating every days through November 22, 2020.
10:00am to 1:00pm ET
Age: 4 and up
Price: Free with park admission
Location:
Wave Hill
Using sticks and evergreen tips from trees felled by storms in Wave Hill’s woodlands, create a wreath and then leave messages from your heart to the heartwood, the dense most inner part of a tree.
Participants also use leftover branches to hang ornaments on an evergreen tree that stands on Wave Hill’s Conifer Slope.
The program takes place outdoors. Dress appropriately for the weather. Rain cancels.
- Please, have your masks on when you arrive, and be prepared to respect physical distancing throughout your stay.
- The location is the Conifer Slope, just to the right of Wave Hill House. Please enter from the roadway that runs along the front of Wave Hill House and to the lawn leading down to the Conifer Slope. Staff will greet you there!
- The number of families able to participate at any given time is limited to about five. If you arrive and the capacity is full, program staff will provide a “come back” card so you will have the first entry for the next session.
