1. Tea with Mrs. B — Falls Church, VA
Best Ages: 2-8
Little princes and princesses can host high tea for their friends at this beautiful tea room, where age-appropriate instruction in manners and etiquette are sprinkled in. Private 90-minute parties include tea time hosted by Mrs. B, vintage dress-up, and light makeup. You can add on food, baked goods, and all kinds of other magical things, including pony or unicorn meet-and-greets, a fairy visit, professional photography, invitations, and party favors.

2. National Building Museum — Washington, DC
Best Ages: 3-8
Ninety-minute children's birthday parties are available on select Saturdays and Sundays at the National Building Museum to Family-level members and higher. Each party includes admission to the exhibits, favors, a craft activity, themed party hats, a t-shirt for the birthday child, and free play time in a museum classroom, and more. Available themes include train construction, LEGO, castles and crowns, and storytelling.
3. National Children's Museum — Washington, DC
Best Ages: 3-10
The National Children's Museum offers two types of birthday parties on Saturdays and Sundays. The Dream Factory party includes the two-hour rental of a semi-private lounge area near the top of the Dream Machine, the museum's three-story climbing structure. The Tinkerers Treat party includes a two-hour rental of the Tinkerers Studio with a hands-on activity. Both parties include a dedicated party facilitator, and you can bring your own snacks and birthday treat.
4. LEGO Discovery Center — Springfield, VA
Best Ages: 3-12
Little builders will love celebrating their birthday at the LEGO Discovery Center in the Springfield Town Center mall. Guests can enjoy all of the attractions, including building stations, an interactive ride, 4D movies, and more. Each child will also receive a LEGO collectible to take home. Add extras such as pizza and drinks, photo ops with a LEGO character, a meet-and-greet with a Master Model Builder, and more.
5. Cookology — Arlington, VA
Best Ages: 3 and up
Throw your budding chef a birthday party at this cooking school in Ballston Quarter, where chefs guide partygoers in making appetizers, entrees, and desserts that they can then enjoy together. Birthday parties are fully customizable and can include themes like cupcake wars, pasta- or sushi-making, and more. You can even add on appetizers, wine, beer, and other beverages for adults.

6. The St. James — Springfield, VA
Best Ages: 3 and up
This massive multi-purpose sports complex offers all kinds of birthday parties to suit any interest. At the Super, Awesome & Amazing play center, kids can challenge their friends in the Nerf Battle Zone, tackle the ninja warrior and aerial obstacle courses, bounce on trampolines, and more. They can make a splash at an indoor water park party. And for sports lovers, the St. James offers flag football, basketball, or soccer parties with a dedicated host. Party packages include food and cake.
7. Bobby McKey's Dueling Piano Bar — National Harbor, MD
Best Ages: 5 and up
While this rollicking dueling piano bar is usually only for adults, it hosts an all-ages show one Saturday afternoon per month. Kids and grown-ups alike can request songs, from Disney hits to Taylor Swift to old favorites from the likes of the Beatles and Billy Joel. The performance is very interactive, and the buffet lunch includes chicken tenders, pizza, and other kid favorites. Bobby McKey's also offers a birthday package that includes goody bags, a TV Shout Out message, and more.

8. Clark's Elioak Farm — Ellicott City, MD
Best Ages: 2-8
Birthday parties at this magical farm include animal petting, goat feeding, a hay wagon ride, visits to the Enchanted Forest attractions and maze, and play time in the play areas and on the slides. Covered tables are reserved for your party for two and a half hours, and you may bring outside food and drinks. Juices, water, snacks, and ice cream are for sale on site.
9. Frying Pan Farm Park — Herndon, VA
Frying Pan Farm Park is home to Kidwell Farm, a recreation of a '30s working homestead. From April through November, kids ages 2 and older can have a Farmyard Bash that includes one or more staff-led activities, depending on the package. These include a meet-and-greet with farm animals, a private wagon and/or carousel ride, and a planting activity, plus two outdoor games. Parties include the use of a shelter tent.

10. Leesburg Animal Park — Leesburg, VA
Best Ages: 2-12
Throw your little animal lover a Safari Party at Leesburg Animal Park! Parties include pony rides, animal petting and feeding, an up-close encounter with a special animal, paper goods, and all-day admission to the park. A host guides the party for two hours, and you'll get a reserved indoor or outdoor party area for cake, snacks, and gift openings.
11. Spirit Park Carousel and Playground — National Harbor, MD
Best Ages: 3-8
The Carousel at National Harbor is a festive place for a birthday party with views of the Potomac River. Birthday parties include unlimited rides on the 36-foot Americana-themed carousel, unlimited use of the adjacent playground, and reserved space in the covered party pavilion for two hours, plus Dippin' Dots, goodie bags, and juice or water for each guest. Make it extra special and unique by adding on rides on the 180-foot Capital Wheel.
12. Dulles Golf Center & Sports Park — Sterling, VA
Best Ages: 6 and up
At this outdoor golf and sports center, kids can choose up to three activities for their birthday party—mini golf, a driving range, batting cages, basketball, beach volleyball, and gem mining. Each two-hour party includes a dedicated party attendant and use of a party pavilion. You provide the food; Dulles Golf Center provides the utensils and paper goods.
